CANADIAN OLYMPIC COMITTEE RED MITTENS FOR HUDSON’S BAY CO.

Remember these? After an incredibly popular launch leading up to the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, the red mittens are back in support of Canada’s Olympic team.
Launched by the Canadian Olympic Foundation and Hudson’s Bay Co., $10 from each pair sold goes to the development of Canadian athletes. Arcade was tasked to develop the “CANADA” wordmark.
More than 3.5 million pairs of the original mittens were sold after their release and were seen everywhere, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Cobert Report and The Today Show.
We Won Our First Award!

Arcade is honoured to be an Applied Arts award winner! We won in the Complete Design Program category for the Official Vancouver 2010 Olympic Apparel Collection. Arcade conceptualized, designed and executed all graphics for the uniforms worn by Team Canada, and executed the official photo shoot, promotional video and limited-edition legacy book. The work was featured in the Applied Arts 2010 Design and Advertising Awards Annual Magazine and at their Winners Exhibit held at Artscape’s Wychwood Barns in Toronto.
55DSL Galactic Battle of Foosball

We recently completed a really awesome campaign for 55DSL called the Galactic Battle of Foosball. The tournament was hosted worldwide, and the winners won tickets to the World Cup in South Africa. Pretty rad. Check out projects for more pics.
Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Wrap-up

Congratulations Canada on one of the most successful Winter Olympics ever! We are finally back from Vancouver, and despite the post-olympic blues, we’re still extremely proud to have been part of these historic games. 14 golds, 26 medals, and most importantly, the gold medal in hockey.
The Olympic apparel sales were through the roof. Lineups for the Olympic Superstore were over 3 hours long and practically everything was sold out. NBC’s Brian Williams said it was the best logo design and garments of the Olympics, and we don’t blame him.
Our designs were seen on everone, including Wayne Gretzky, Jon Hamm, Hayden Christiansen, Rachel Bilson, the cast of Glee, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Canadian Olympic Team. But most importantly, it was on every proud Canadian at every event, at every party, in every crowd.

Tonight’s the night: Watch out for Acrade’s Olympic Apparel Designs for Team Canada as they are unveiled for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics during the Opening Ceremony at 6:00 p.m. PST/9:00 p.m. EST!
Arcade was asked to work with Hudson’s Bay Company as part of the design team for the Official Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games uniforms and apparel collection worn by Canadian athletes. Arcade worked on all apparel graphics as well as the creative concept.
